Although Anne Gros’ decision to become a vigneronne was fairly sudden and unplanned, she is widely considered one of the top winemakers in Burgundy today. With her father in ill health in the late 1980s, she quickly assumed a large load of responsibilities – performing vineyard tasks, vinifying the wines, and looking after the commercial side of the domaine – while at the same time taking enology and viticulture classes in Beaune and Dijon! Anne has enviable holdings in Clos-Vougeot, Richebourg, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vosne-Romanée, and she also produces some of the finest Bourgogne and Hautes-Cotes-de-Nuits in the entire region.
